The Oldest Active Car Club In Montana
|
IThe meeting was called to order at 8:04 p.m.
Roll Call of Officers: President and Treasurer were present. All others were absent.
Visitors were Jim Miles and Art Dudley.
Minutes of Oct. 7, 2009 meeting were read minus the financial report.
Correspondence: Cruzin magazine and Men in the Making poster.
Shop committee:
• Gary Rantala and Gary Cooper brought up the scissor jack.
• Work was done on the electrical and the air compressor. When wiring is done, the insulation will go up.
• Fred Thompson and Darald Kelley took the old garage door...
• A motion was passed to lower the long term shop rate to $35, year ‘round, due to monies made from the raffle.
• Buddy will plow the parking lot during the winter.
• Ivan painted his pickup ‘Ford blue’. Jesse James now has his Dodge in the show for work.
Cruise report:
• A number of people showed up for highway cleanup, but the weather prevented them from work, due to safety. So
clean-up will be postponed until spring. Some went to dinner afterwards.
• A potluck is planned for Nov 14 at 6:00 p.m.
Unfinished/Old business:
• Dee delivered the People’s Choice award to the Andersons in Kalispell. Libby Video gave a DVD to give to them.
So Dee will deliver that soon. The club voted to reimburse her $20 for gas for this last delivery.
• On January 9th, the Elks was reserved for the Christmas party. Choice of meat will be prime rib or chicken. Price is
$12 each for members and $15 for nonmembers. Happy Hour will be at 6:00 and meal at 7:00 p.m. White Elephant
exchange gift of $10 or less will take place for those who want to play. Sign up for your meal choice by Dec. 23; get your
choice to Dan Ackerman.
• Discussion took place regarding prompt payment of dues. Ideas were: put a late fee on for those not paying within a
reasonable time; put up a list of those that have paid; Call, mail or email a reminder to pay dues. (Some people just
forget); Have Sergeant-at-arms contact people at meetings that they haven’t paid; Put pressure on people to pay within
the first 3 months of the year. The bottom line of the discussion: people need to pay their dues to be responsible
members. Keep privacy involved when any lists are printed, to some degree. Follow the guidelines of the by-laws.
• Jesse James may have t-shirts for Gay Myhrang’s quilt.
• Pat found that the insurance we carried only pertained to the three days of the show, no more.
New business:
• Pat brought a business card of a paint striper from the Kalispell area. He would come over to Libby, if there were a
few cars to do, and could possibly do the jobs in the car shop.
• It was decided to offer the registrant (that had his engine area burn up in front of the reg. booths) either free
registration next year or reimbursement. He did not stay for any of the show. This would not set precedence. Such
actions would be looked at case by case. Heidi will contact him.
• Two Christmas families will be chosen by the December meeting, one from Libby and one from Troy. Diane Dudley
and Dee Teske will take care of this.
Updated nominations for officers:
President: Gary Rantala and Dennis Souther
V. President: Brock Jones, Art Pankey, Jesse James, and Rex Murray
Secretary: Jesse James, Heidi Sichting
Treasurer: Marge Kroeger
Sergeant-at-arms: Dan Ackerman, Dennis Souther, Tina Swenson, Diane Troyer
Cruise Director: Dee Teske, ‘Diane Troyer, Wayen Kroeger (name will be removed for voting)

Announcements:
• Free black bucket seats from a Chevy are available. Contact Kevin Peck or Brock Jones.
• Potluck on Saturday, Nov 14 at 6:00 p.m.
• People can pay dues now, for 2010.
• All hookups in the kitchen work, but Gary is looking for knowledge of how to shut off a buzzer on the stove.
Motion to adjourn, seconded, Meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
Marge Kroeger
Stand-in Secretary
