MINUTES
August 5, 2009
The meeting was called to order at 8:05 p.m.
Roll Call of Officers: All officers were present.
Guests were introduced: Greg Davis, who does metal signs and Pankey's grandson, Morgan.
Minutes of July 1st: 2009 meeting were read and approved.
Correspondence: Cruizin Mag., invitation from Nordicfest to be in the parade.
Shop committee:
• Furnace was delivered and it was suggested that the furnace remain on through the winter at 50 degrees to keep
the pipes from freezing.
• Accepting bids on old furnace and they will be due by the next business meeting the First Wed. of Sept.
• Electrical will be done before snow.
• Need to flush the drain before winter. Dave has usually brought in a water truck to flush it.
Cruise report:
• We had 12-15 cars at the July 4th parade in Troy;
• 10 cars went to Thompson Falls.
• The mini show at the Care Center had 15 cars
• 1 car went to Priest River and Kroegers went to Evel Knievel days.
• 15 cars traveled to Southers for eats, drinks & merriment.
Unfinished business:
• Chris talked to FM105.3, said they were more interested in scolding us than anything else. We will not be on their
program.
• Dave will talk to Barb about getting some ads in the Hagadon paper network.
• Marge and Gary will be doing an interview with Moira Blaz on 88.9, and Chris will get in touch with Duane Williams.
• It was discussed about sending a letter to 105.3 re: last years fiasco and the billing, but decided not to do that.
New Applicants:
• Both Dale Robertson and Burt Stoltz were tabled until September.
• Gary Cooper was voted in as a new member. He will be sworn in at the Sept. meeting.
(By-Laws need to be amended regarding meeting requirements and out of State/Country memberships. Tabled until
September.)
New business:
• Kim and Kevin Peck donated a gift basket for the silent auction.
• Chris heard he had resigned.
• Marge brought up the issue of adding more insulation and allocating funds to buy it. It will be discussed later.
Car Show:
• JoJo Baker will be doing the PA and it was suggested that we pay his motel room. Motion made, and 2nd to do so.
Motion carried. JoJo will do advertising in Bonners Ferry, Joe will handle.
• 48 degrees cannot find the template for the People's Choice award so Dee will take hers in to be used as a pattern.
• Les Schwab is sponsoring the Burnout contest. Del and Mika will handle the gate.
• Car show is basically under control.
• Dan Taasvigan is going to do the Bucket pictures. All intersections and the 4-way will need.
• All the stuff for the goody bags is here and all door prizes are done.
• Chris spoke with his sister regarding the Vendor Fair and asked that next year they get with the car club before hand.
• Corky has the street cleanup handled; will get a time for us by next Wed.
• Burnout pad needs to be cleaned.
• If we are going to have the potluck on Sunday, we need to get in touch with Mike Fissori. Norma will call them.
• There will be a best paint award for 1st and 2nd.
• There are 22 vendors signed up.
Next meeting will be Wednesday the 12th @ 7:00 to put together the goody bags.
